Dear Parents and Students, It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community. This
afternoon, Jenna Guillemette, a junior at Madawaska Middle/High School, passed away
from complications of an illness while hospitalized. This loss is sure to raise many
emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.
Our school has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of professionals trained to help with the
needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. At
Madawaska Middle/High School, we will have counselors available this afternoon and
evening until 10:00pm, for any student who may need or want help or any type of
assistance surrounding this loss. These services will continue throughout the day
tomorrow. We encourage you, as parents, to also feel free to use our resources.
We want to let parents and students know that we will have a crisis team available at the
school this afternoon and evening until 10:00pm, and throughout the school day tomorrow,
to assist in dealing with this tragic loss. If students need assistance they may make use of
these services. If additional services are needed throughout the evening, please do not
hesitate to call the AMHC Crisis Hotline 1-888-568-1112.
We are saddened by the loss to our school community and will make every effort to help
you and your child as you need. Sincerely, Benjamin Sirois Superintendent of Schools |
