Parents and students are invited to attend a Parent Tech Night on Wednesday, October 21st at 6pm in the MMHS Library. There will be two events happening. The first event is to assist parents in signing up for their PowerSchool Parent login accounts. PowerSchool is used to store student grades, attendance, and student information. Parents will be able to setup the automatic emails they can receive of their child's progress on a weekly, biweekly, or on demand basis.
The second part of the evening pertains only to the parents of 7th and 8th grade students who are not yet 13 years of age. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act is a federal law which requires students be at least 13 years of age before collecting certain information. At this meeting, students under the age of 13 can have their parent sign them up for AppleID's free of charge where the parent can monitor their online downloads of applications from the Apple AppStore. This account is necessary to maintain their school issued laptop. Students who are 13 years of age or older can already create their AppleID's free of charge without getting direct parental involvement. Bring a parental email address and we will help you set things up!
