Special education classes are intended to improve skills targeted by the Indivdualized Education Program (IEP).  Special Education classes may be included in your child’s schedule depending on his or her grade level and IEP.

-            Direct instruction courses in mathematics, science, and English will be offered to students who require individualized instruction.

-            Students will complete assignments according to IEP goals. In addition, students will receive study skills, organization, and behavioral support.

Grades:

93-100%            A

85-92%              B

77-84%              C

70-76%              D

below 69            F

Grades will be based on the total points earned divided by the total of points possible. Points are earned for the following: class participation, homework, class work, and exams.

Attendance

Students are expected to be at school every day.  Students who do not report to class by the allotted time will be considered tardy and will be sent to the Main Office.

Classroom Expectations

Students will follow the rules established at Madawaska Middle/High School.  Please refer to the Student Handbook for details.  Students are expected to bring necessary school supplies to each class.  Students will participate in class, turn in assignment when they are due, and work to the best of their ability each day.

Parent Conferences

Parents are encouraged to attend teacher-parent conferences.  The scheduled dates for teacher-parent conferences are: November 10, and March 15.  If you are unable to attend, we can schedule an appointment that will be suitable for you.
