Tips to help your child with playing the recorder at home 1. Provide a quiet place where he/she can stay focused and here the music. 2. Encourage daily practice (10 minutes). 3. Display the fingering chart in a safe, clean place for reference. 4. Acknowledge ALL efforts (including squeaks!). 5. Remind your musician to check that the holes are fully covered (to avoid squeaks). 6. Get your own recorder and play together! These are all strategies that we use in the classroom. Doing the same thing at home as at school (being consistent) will help your child be the best recorder player they can be. Thank you. Classroom Rules Make music (everyone participates) Use time wisely (come to class quietly and ready) Speak carefully Inspire others Care for others and our classroom |
