Welcome to the 2013-2014 school year at Madawaska Elementary! This is going to be an exciting year filled with new goals, changes, and endless possibility!
First and foremost, I would like to invite you to become an active participant in your child’s educational journey. We at Madawaska Elementary believe that the most effective education for your child comes from a partnership between the home and the school. Many opportunities exist for you to become involved in your child’s education and we invite you, as parents, to take advantage of these opportunities throughout the school year. We look forward to you becoming an integral part of our school and together we can provide a positive and exciting experience for your child.
Success, one child at a time – the effort to meet each child’s needs for growth socially, emotionally and academically – is ongoing and intentional. We use formative and summative assessments to gather data on the academic growth of our students and use that data to develop appropriate classroom and individualized instruction. Regular review and revision of the curriculum help us to ensure that we are delivering the best possible learning experience for our students. We integrate a school-wide OWLS Philosophy for appropriate behavior, common routines and procedures, and common expectations into everything we do in an effort to build learning opportunities for social-emotional growth. Our teachers “know” their students, identifying strengths, challenges and passions while striving for a positive school experience and love of learning.
The entire education family here at MES are very proud of our school, students, staff, parents and community. We strive to provide our students with a well rounded and meaningful educational experience geared to each child’s learning potential. We are all looking forward to a happy and successful school year.
Thank you for your continued support. I am always available to talk with parents and students and to help with any problems that may arise, please call. I look forward to an exciting, challenging and educational 2013-2014 school year with you and your children.
