NEWS UPDATE

UPDATE - Students in grades 7-12 will be using MLTI laptops during the 2012-13 school year.  Students wishing to take the laptop home must take the school laptop insurance.  The laptop insurance limits the uncovered liability to $150 per incident provided there was no intentional, malicious, or grossly negligent cause for the damage.

Seventh and Eighth grade students who do not have internet access at home  and qualify for free or reduced lunch through the federal school lunch program are qualified to receive dial-up access through the Maine Learning Technology Foundation and Great Works Internet.  Parents are required to fill out the form

Students in 6th grade at Madawaska Elementary School will each be assigned a laptop this year.  Due to high rates of incidental damage, students at this grade level will not be taking their laptops home this year.  Students will be provided space in their classroom to charge their laptop.

One goal of the Madawaska School Department is to provide the tools needed for our students and staff to be among the best.  The school department has over 500 computers performing a wide variety of functions.

The school department has deployed laptop computers to each of it's 6th to 12th grade students at the Middle/High School.  Each student will have wireless internet access from anywhere in the building. By putting these tools in the hands of their students, the school will be helping develop skills for the 21st century job market.
