On June 14th, Madawaska voters defeated the two school related items on the ballot.  The proposed school budget for 2016-17 was turned down by a vote of 353 in favor and 517 against.  Budget Validation Referendum will continue for another three years as voters decided that one by a 516-336 margin.  In the lone School Committee race, Beverly Madore defeated Eric Morin by a vote of 549 - 319.

The Madawaska School Committee will now go back to the drawing board to come up with options for the next budget cycle.  Persons with concerns or questions are encouraged to get in contact with school committee members or Superintendent Gisele Dionne.
